Julia Alexander
Julia Alexander is an entertainment and media attorney advising producers, production companies, distributors, financiers, and media businesses across film, television, and related industries. As Founding Partner of ALAPC, she provides strategic counsel on intellectual property, rights acquisition, development, financing, distribution, and corporate structuring.
Her practice is defined by its integration of legal, commercial, and industry insight. With a career spanning in-house roles, private practice, and production, Julia advises clients with a sophisticated understanding of how creative, financial, and legal considerations align across the lifecycle of a project or enterprise.
Before entering the law, Julia worked in production, including documentary filmmaking and executive and creative support roles. That experience continues to inform her work, grounding legal strategy in a practical understanding of how projects are developed, financed, and exploited. After law school, she was mentored by leading entertainment attorneys and went on to represent major independent domestic and international clients on complex business and legal affairs matters. She further refined her practice through in-house roles at Netflix and Disney, where she handled high-profile projects and sophisticated transactions within global media organizations.
Julia is a certified mediator and a frequent speaker and moderator at ABA Forums on the Entertainment and Sports Industries and North American Law Summits. She has been a guest lecturer at UCLA Extension and is a published author for Lexis Practice Advisor: Intellectual Property and Technology.
Julia provides strategic, practical counsel aligned with both immediate objectives and long-term enterprise value.
